About Us

Stacey Mitchell - Educational Consultant

I am an experienced primary school teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. I have over twenty years experience in primary school settings.

I qualified as a teacher from Kingston University in 1997, I then undertook an additional role as the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator). I loved the SENCO role so much my next position was as a SENCO, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Designated Teacher for Children in Care and member of the school's Senior Leadership Team. In addition to this my other roles in schools have included: Key Stage Co-ordinator, Student and NQT Mentor and Inclusion Lead. I am currently a SEND Governor and Specialist Dyslexia Teacher.

I have a wide range of experience in the support of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This includes:

Speech, Language and Communication Needs (including autism, all areas of speech and language - developmental language disorder, selective mutism, stammering)

Cognition and Learning (including specific learning difficulties - dyslexia, dyscalculia, developmental co-ordination disorder)

Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs (including trauma, anxiety, ADHD, ODD)

Physical and/Sensory Needs (including visual impairment, hearing impairment, sensory impairment, cerebral palsy)

I have worked within the guidelines of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice 2015 for over five years. I have also followed and implemented the Mainstream Core Standards and other Government and Local Authority initiatives.

I understand that the world of SEND and its processes can seem overwhelming to parents and professionals, my aim is to support you and guide you to get the best possible outcomes for your child or setting.

Angela Harding - Educational Consultant

AJH Consultancy

I have over 29 years teaching experience including time spent as a specialist teacher, Team Teach and Language for Learning trainer for Kent, Head of a Physical Difficulties unit, an Early Years and a Key Stage 1 teacher. I have also worked with the Local Authority and SEN advisors to start a Special Resource Provision for pupils with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

I have extensive experience of writing and reviewing provision maps, annual reviews, requests for EHCPs, HNF requests (with parents and the LA), School Improvement Plans (SIPs), School Evaluation Forms (SEFs), Action Plans for curriculum areas and Inclusion in particular.

I am experienced in the analysis of school, local and national data to plan school improvement

I have been a Deputy Head teacher, SENCO and an Inclusion Leader with the responsibility of line managing the SENCO. I was also a safeguarding leader and a designated teacher for Children in Care.

I have worked as a member of the senior leadership team together with the HMI inspectors and county support team to lead a school out of special measures.

As a Specialist Teacher I have supported over 19 different schools attending School Based Reviews (SBRs) and advising SENCOs and School Leaders in statutory processes, assessing pupils' learning needs, suggesting strategies and providing relevant support. As Chair of a SENCO group I led training sessions within various schools and supported staff in relation to matters of SEND.

My expertise is in differentiating the curriculum and training staff in intervention strategies, behaviour management, overseeing the intervention and assessing the success of these interventions. The impact that I have had on school improvement includes: diminishing the difference for disadvantaged pupils (Pupil Premium) with the provision and allocation of resources, good attainment for English as an Additional Language (EAL) pupils and accelerated progress for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
